Résumé
Depuis plus de 25 ans nous avons entendu dire que les organisations devaient être plus orientée projet. La plupart des organisations ont maintenant un Bureau de Projet-PMO (Program/Project Management Office), mais récemment, dans le monde du projet, la mode est au VMO et auteurs et consultants parlent de passer du PMO au VMO.

Malheureusement, très peu comprennent vraiment le concept de valeur au-delà de la valeur financière. Alors, la question est : qu’est-ce-que la communauté valeur peut amener à cette discussion ?

Larry Miles a défini la valeur comme un rapport qualité/prix, à partir de là, le concept s’est élargi pour inclure Satisfaction des parties prenantes (clients) vs ressources nécessaires pour réaliser cette satisfaction. Plus récemment, les concepts de « Lean » ont ajouté l’idée du Flux de Valeur, qui consiste à éliminer le gaspillage dans la chaîne de value entre l’expression du besoin et sa satisfaction.

Au cours de cette présentation, je vais tenter de présenter un approche dynamique du VMO (Value Management Office ou Organisation) qui s’aligne avec le contexte actuel de complexité que vivent les organisations et l’historique de l’analyse de la valeur.

Michel Thiry, PhD, PMP, DAVSC, PMI Fellow
Michel Thiry possède une expérience internationale variée et est mondialement reconnu en management par la valeur, gestion de projets et de programmes au niveau organisationnel. Il a développé et conduit de nombreux programmes dans un contexte agile et plus traditionnel pour des entreprises multinationales dans diverses industries.

Michel a abondamment publié et présenté au niveau international, à la fois au niveau professionnel et académique; il est régulièrement invité à présenter dans des forums internationaux. Il est l’auteur des ouvrages: “Value Management Practice” (2013) et “Program Management” (2017). Il conduit régulièrement des ateliers et séminaires sur la gestion de la stratégie, valeur, programme et est reconnu pour son application de l’agile au niveau organisationnel.

En 2006, il a été élu Fellow du PMI. En 2008 la Société canadienne d’analyse de la valeur lui a conféré le Life Value Achievement Award. En 2014, il a reçu le PMI Eric Jenett Project Management Excellence Award.

Abstract

For more than 25 years now, we have heard that organization must be more project-oriented, most organizations now have a PMO (Program/Project Management Office), recently, in the project management world, the new “fad” has become value! Everybody talks about the VMO and writers and consultants are promoting a shift “from PMO to VMO”.

But… not many of these value proponents understand Value beyond its financial meaning of Dollar Benefits vs Cost. So, the question is: what can the Value Community bring to the table?

Larry Miles defined value as Quality vs Cost, from there the definition has widened to encompass Satisfaction of the stakeholders’ (Customers) needs vs the resources required to satisfy those needs. More recently Lean concepts have added the concept of a Value Stream trying to weed out waste from the process of satisfying stakeholders’ needs and expectations.

In this presentation, I will aim to present a dynamic view of the VMO (Value Management Office or Organization) that is in line with the current complex context of organizations and the long history of Value Management.

Michel has extensive worldwide experience and has worked in many cultural environments. He is recognized as a worldwide authority in strategic applications of project, program and value at organizational level and has supported the development and implementation of numerous strategic programs for major corporations of various industries in both agile and traditional contexts. 

He has written and lectured widely and been invited to sit on expert panels in international Academic and Practitioner forums. He is the author of “A Framework for Value Management Practice” and of the best-seller “Program Management”. He regularly delivers seminars and workshops in Strategy, Value and Program management and is recognised for his application of organizational agility in the real world.
